cereal party: who are we?

The School of Ma invites you to another edition of Cereal Party on the 23. July 2021 from 7-9pm CET, where we have serial conversations with strangers over a bowl of cereal.

This months event will be dealing with topics of family, history, identity and self, asking how we form identity, what role cultural heritage and family plays today and the implications of technology in the forming of the self.

These events have seen people all over the world coming together to share in honest and intimate conversation, sharing truths that often feel sometimes easier to tell a stranger over the internet than our closest firends. They are an opportunity for introspection, connection and discovering that our experiences might overlap more than we might think. 
Last month’s topic was Daddy Issues, where we shared stories about our father figures and our relationships to them. Discussions around difficulties in communication between family members were reoccurring, which leads us into this months discussions around family traditions, cultural heritages and their lasting impact on us through our lives.

The Quiets, a silent data collection collective, will be attending as usual to creatively document the conversations through data visualisation methods, like the one shown above.
