Mars College is an alternative research, art and education community run by our good friends. It takes place every year from January to March in the California Desert.

For those of us who cannot go to California and join Official Mars College this year, we are organizing a Berlin cohort! We will be meeting from 16. Jan. - 20. Feb. at School of Machines* and we’d love you to join! Here’s what we’ll do:

  • weekly potluck and ThunderTalks/Demos at School of Machines every Thursday

  • workshops organized by You and other Martians

  • group outings to exhibits, shows, nature walks, etc.

  • co-work/co-create on artistic projects

  • whatever else you want to put on the schedule

Mars Berlin will culminate in a final exhibition/show/party at School of Machines. This will be an opportunity for all participants to showcase what they’ve worked on and created during the month.

Ideal participants will come with a project or idea in mind as a point of focus for our time together. A "project" could be anything from "I will make/do/research/build XYZ" to "I will teach a class" to "I will attend and document X events per week" etc.

Mars Berlin is open to anyone who can:

  • commit to weekly meetings

  • contribute to the community (either by putting activities on the schedule, or by joining and being supportive participant)

  • bring a positive creative energy

*Note: This is not a full-time program. There will be weekly meetups at School of Machines (Thursdays) and a final showcase event also hosted here, however, workshops, field trips and other events may also take place in various homes and venues around Berlin.

who is this for?

Past martians/attendees of previous editions of Mars College and anyone interested in diy self-hosted experimental peer learning in the areas of art, technology, and beyond. No prior experience needed.
