Joseph Popper
Artist & educator
Joseph Popper is an artist working across film, installation and photography. He is interested in how human experiences and imaginations are shaped by outer space exploration and other technological developments. His works make the “found” fantastic, rendering simple materials and reimagining landscapes to create playful fictions.
Joseph is currently a PhD candidate at the European Centre for Art, Design and Media based research in Basel, Switzerland. He has an interdisciplinary background in art and design, graduating with an MA in Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art in 2012.
His works are exhibited internationally, including La Gaîté Lyrique (Paris), Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art (Gateshead), La Panacée (Montpellier) and the Vitra Design Museum (Weil am Rhein).
